Dr Emma Jessop, Counselling Psychologist

I am a Chartered counselling psychologist with experience of working in a range of mental health settings including NHS secondary care services for people with severe and enduring mental health issues, bereavement services and university counselling services. I am trained in a number of therapeutic approaches. Alongside my clinical work I have delivered teaching and training in psychological presentations and therapeutic interventions with a view to improving the psychological mindedness of staff in such settings as the NHS, universities and private charities. I engage in continuing professional development (CPD) on a regular basis and am pursuing my accreditation as a Cognitive Analytic therapist.

I am committed to providing a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment where we work together to alleviate distress and help you gain a greater understanding of your problems. Together we will explore what brings you to therapy, what you hope to achieve and which mode of therapy might be best suited to your needs. My work prioritises the building of a therapeutic relationship as a safe and secure framework within which you can make sense of your experiences so that you can engage in a full and meaningful life.
