The COVID-19 pandemic forced us all into working more online, via video calls. While I had already been offering this to therapy clients, few had taken it up. People were concerned about whether it was effective or even possible to have therapy this way.
When this was the only option, we found that it was, and this has been borne out in research:
- It is possible to build a positive therapeutic relationship
- It is usually possible to create a safe and sufficiently private space for you to have therapeutic video calls
- You can achieve the same improvements
- Although there can occasionally be some technical hiccups, online therapy is often easier to fit into your day and can be more accessible for many people
Because of these positive outcomes, many psychologists have moved to only offering online sessions. At The Swan Consultancy, there are three psychologists who offer face to face sessions. These spaces are usually fully booked, however, there is usually capacity for people to be seen online. Therefore, this means you are likely to be seen much sooner if you choose to work online.
So, if you would like to consider online therapy or have some additional concerns about whether this might be the right approach for you, please do not hesitate to get in touch for a free and confidential discussion.

Some kind words…
“We used the Schema Focused Therapy Model, which was a complete revelation to me in “going back” to clearly recognise the core modes in childhood and their echoing effect down through the years and decades”

“You have completely changed my life!”
“I was really pleased with the work I did with Sarah and the magic of EMDR compared to previous psychological interventions. I have already recommended to a friend who is struggling with similar issues and I can’t praise highly enough.”
“I have tried so many psychologists, nobody has managed to help me control and deal with what I was suffering. Sarah has transformed my life and my relationships.”
