Dr Emma Groves, Clinical Psychologist

I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years experience of working in both the NHS and the private sector with adults, children and families. Within my NHS roles, I have worked with individuals across the life span within forensic services, adult mental health, learning disability services and child and adolescent mental health services. I provide specialist assessment and therapy to address a wide range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, PTSD, developmental trauma, substance abuse and attachment related difficulties. I have also held roles within academia as a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Course Leader of an MSc in Forensic Psychology.
I have a particular interest and skill set in supporting those who have experienced traumatic and adverse experiences including work related stress and trauma. I am trained in a range of different therapeutic approaches. I take a collaborative approach to therapy in order to develop a shared understanding of your current difficulties and the factors underlying these. From there, my aim is to work with you to develop a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship to explore your difficulties and work towards your goals..
